HISTORY OF TAX ACCOUNTING STUDY PROGRAM
The background to the formation of the UNDIP Vocational School began with Undip’s conditions related to the governance of the Diploma-III program. Until 2016, the Diploma-III program at Undip was managed by each faculty. With clear boundaries between education at the vocational level and the academic level, the Diploma 3 program at UNDIP is collected under one management, namely the UNDIP Vocational School. Along with the change in UNDIP’s status from a Higher Education Institution (PT) as a Public Service Agency (BLU) to a university with the status of a Legal Entity State Higher Education Institution (PTN BH) in 2015 based on the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 52 of 2015 concerning the UNDIP Statute, as well as the Statute, Perek No. 4 of 2016 regarding the senate’s approval regarding the establishment of vocational schools, UNDIP needs to develop an integrated system regarding the management of Diploma study programs that have been run in each faculty.
Based on the Undip Chancellor’s Decree Number 1250/UN7.P/HK/2016 regarding the Establishment of the Undip Vocational School, the Undip Vocational School was established as a forum for applied study programs including third diploma (last 2018), applied bachelor’s degree, professional program, applied master’s degree (specialist) to applied doctoral programs (sub specialist).
With the establishment of a separate Vocational School, the development of applied/professional undergraduate programs can more easily be carried out in a more integrated and focused manner. Current world industrial developments and government programs that will fully develop human resources so that they are able to compete with other developed countries require skilled and professional graduate graduates in their fields. Responding to these challenges really requires the competence of graduates from various sciences.
The Asian region is recognized by EU countries as producing vocational workforce who are very reliable, competent and have high integrity. Therefore, there needs to be a framework that must be created to sharpen/improve the abilities of graduates, so that they are able to increase productivity for the sake of industrial progress.
Progress in improving vocational education in the Asian region has begun to be taken into account since the enactment of AFTA and MEA. The competency of vocational student graduates is very influential, in line with the increasing demand for skilled workers by domestic and foreign industry. In accordance with the direction of development of vocational education study programs from bachelor’s, applied bachelor’s, applied master’s to applied doctoral education levels, Undipo needs to form an Undip Vocational School in 2016.
2018 is the last year to accept students for the Diploma 3 program and in 2019 11 applied undergraduate study programs were opened at Vocational Schools. Opening of the UNDIP Vocational School Tax Accounting (SARTER) study program based on Chancellor’s decision number 521/UN7/HK/2019. On December 17 2019, it received a minimum accreditation score (C) from BAN-PT and thank God the existence of the Bachelor of Applied Tax Accounting study program was accepted by the public.
