International Seminar: Unveiling the Potential of the Halal Industry: Emerging Trends in Southeast Asia

Semarang, November 1, 2024 – The Tax Accounting Study Program of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University held an international seminar entitled “Unveiling the Potential of the Halal Industry: Emerging Trends in Southeast Asia”. This event presented two speakers from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, namely Dr. Nur Ainna Ramli and Dr. Hisham Bin Sabri. This seminar aims to discuss the great potential of the halal industry in Southeast Asia, which covers various sectors such as finance, tourism, and lifestyle.

Dr. Nur Ainna Ramli explained about the digital transformation in the halal industry and how technological innovation can increase global competitiveness. Meanwhile, Dr. Hisham Bin Sabri reviewed the regulatory and policy aspects that support the growth of the halal industry in the region. This event was attended by more than 200 online participants, consisting of academics, practitioners, and students, with high enthusiasm to discuss and share insights.

Head of the Tax Accounting Study Program, Apip, S.E., M.Si, said that this seminar was an important moment in strengthening cross-disciplinary understanding and international networks. The interactive Q&A session that ended the event provided an opportunity for participants to have direct dialogue with experts, explore challenges, and explore practical solutions to develop the halal industry in Indonesia.
