Vocational School Universitas Diponegoro Welcomes Politeknik Negeri Semarang: Benchmarking on Teaching Factory Management

Semarang, January 29, 2026 – The Vocational School of Diponegoro University (Undip) welcomed a delegation from Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) for a benchmarking visit on Thursday, January 29, 2026. The visit aimed to observe and learn firsthand about the management of teaching factories, as well as to benchmark curricula, learning methods, and supporting facilities and infrastructure at the Undip Vocational School.

The Polines delegation, consisting of 16 participants, took part in the series of activities with great enthusiasm. This visit served as a platform for sharing best practices among vocational higher education institutions in developing industry-based learning and strengthening international-class programs.

The event began with a welcome session and opening remarks from the Undip Vocational School, represented by Mr. Apip, S.E., M.Si., Chairman of the Tax Accounting Study Program. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the visit and conveyed his hope that the activity would strengthen synergy and open opportunities for collaboration in curriculum development and internationally oriented vocational learning.

The delegation then attended a presentation and discussion session on curriculum design, teaching methods, and the utilization of facilities and infrastructure supporting the learning process, including the use of technology and practice-based learning approaches.

The Polines delegation also had the opportunity to directly visit several Teaching Factory units at the Undip Vocational School, including Voca Link, Voca Water, Voca Export Import, Voca Risk & Insurance, Voca Delivery, the Vocational Tax Center (VTC), the Investment Gallery, and the Contact Center. This site visit provided a clear picture of how learning activities, services, and collaboration with industry partners are integrated in the teaching factory model.

The Polines delegation expressed their appreciation for the management and development of the teaching factory implemented at the Undip Vocational School. The results of this benchmarking activity are expected to serve as an important reference for Polines in developing curricula, learning methods, and supporting facilities for international-class programs within their institution.

Through this benchmarking visit, it is hoped that a sustainable partnership and continued collaboration will be established between the Vocational School of Diponegoro University and Politeknik Negeri Semarang in efforts to enhance the quality and competitiveness of vocational education.
