Semarang, September 01 2025 – The Tax Accounting Study Program, Diponegoro University Vocational School, through its Tax Accounting SDGs Team, held a World Class University SDGs Workshop with the theme “Utilization of Eggshell Waste and Rice Washing Water for Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) for Horticultural Practices.”
This activity aims to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through environmentally friendly innovations, particularly in utilizing household waste into valuable products.
The workshop was attended by the community of Lerep Village, Semarang Regency, who also served as partners in the implementation of the activity. In addition, local farmer groups also attended to gain firsthand knowledge about the production and use of liquid organic fertilizer from eggshells and rice washing water.
During this activity, the organizing team presented the benefits of liquid organic fertilizer for horticultural crops and provided hands-on practice on the manufacturing process. It is hoped that the community will apply this knowledge in their daily agricultural activities to increase productivity and reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers.
This workshop also demonstrates the Tax Accounting Study Program’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the SDGs, particularly those addressing “Responsible Consumption and Production” and “Life on Land.” This activity aims to foster synergy between academics, the community, and farmer groups, creating sustainable innovations that benefit both the environment and the local economy.
