Lisa Zakiya, commonly known as Lisa, is an alumna of the Diploma 3 Tax Accounting Study Program at Diponegoro University’s Vocational School (SV UNDIP). Graduating in October 2016 with a GPA of 3.42, Lisa’s career journey has been marked by perseverance, learning, and continuous self-development. She is currently working as a Finance Executive at a multinational company, PT Tobe Aviasi Indonesia (TBM Aviation), which operates in the aviation consultancy sector.
A Steady and Determined Career Path
After graduating from the D3 Tax Accounting Study Program at SV UNDIP, Lisa began her career in data checking at J&T Express in December 2016. The COVID-19 pandemic caused her to be temporarily unemployed, but she bounced back by working at KJPP Semarang as a project and tender secretary in March 2021. In December 2021, Lisa joined PT Tobe Aviasi Indonesia (TBM Aviation), and since then, she has climbed the career ladder consistently:
- Finance Accounting Associate (December 2021)
- Finance Accounting and Tax (March – August 2022)
- Finance Manager (September 2022 – September 2023)
- Finance Executive (October 2023 – present)
In just four years of full-time work, Lisa has earned a strategic position and now interacts directly with clients from various countries, including Ireland.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Finance Executive, Lisa is responsible for the company’s entire financial processes, from journal entries, financial report preparation, to budgeting and budget control. She also manages client payment strategies, financial report reviews, and conducts profit-loss and cash flow analyze In terms of taxation, she is involved in calculating Income Tax Article 21, final income tax, and preparing annual tax reports, supported by tax consultants. She also handles international taxation aspects, including tax strategy and compliance with cross-border tax regulations. The company where Lisa works, TBM Aviation, is an aviation industry consultancy that specializes in aircraft component procurement and maintenance, airworthiness monitoring, and aircraft leasing transaction management.
Keys to Success: Hard Skills, Soft Skills, English Proficiency, and Networking
As an accounting graduate, Lisa has pursued several training programs and certifications, such as Brevet A & B, and is currently preparing for Brevet C and CTT (Certified Tax Technician). Lisa emphasizes the importance of communication skills and English proficiency, especially since 90% of the company’s clients are international. Technical skills must be complemented by courteous and effective communication, as the company upholds a culture of professionalism without rigidity. She also highlights the importance of networking. Many job opportunities she received came from connections built during and after college. Lisa was active in student organizations such as the Prisma Photography Club, which helped sharpen her creativity and teamwork abilities.
