In order to strengthen the understanding of students and the wider community about the importance of digital transformation in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, the Tax Accounting Study Program, Vocational School, Diponegoro University is proud to hold a Guest Lecture entitled “From Traditional to Digital: The Future of SMEs” on September 10, 2024 online. This event presents two leading speakers in the fields of economics and technology, namely Rora Puspita Sari, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. from Padjajaran University and Prof. Syaiful Ali, MIS., Ph.D., Ak., CA. from Gadjah Mada University. Both of them shared their insights on how digital transformation can be a strategic solution for MSMEs to survive and thrive in the rapidly developing modern era.

Rora Puspita Sari, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., an academic and digital economics expert, discussed how MSMEs can utilize technology to improve operational efficiency, expand market reach, and increase competitiveness in the global arena.

Meanwhile, Prof. Syaiful Ali, MIS., Ph.D., Ak., CA., who is known as an expert in the field of digital accounting and corporate governance, explained the important role of educational institutions, especially accounting and financial management departments, in supporting the success of MSME digital transformation. He also explained various case studies from MSMEs that have successfully adapted digitally and grown rapidly.

This event was greeted with high enthusiasm by students because it succeeded in inviting 400 participants and providing new insights for participants, especially students, MSME actors, and other stakeholders, about the importance of innovation and adoption of technology in supporting business sustainability and growth.
